Household Plants Clean The Air |

| The following information
explaining how common houseplants clean the
air is based on the findings of NASA and Dr.
B.C. Wolverton. Dr. Wolverton is the leading
expert in the area of clean air plants and author
of several excellent books on the subject.

| NASA was researching methods
to clean the air in space stations when they
discovered that many common houseplants and
flowering plants were able to remove harmful
gases from the atmosphere. Plants absorb carbon
dioxide and release oxygen through the process
of photosynthesis. Dr. Wolverton & NASA
found that plants also absorb benzene, formaldehyde,
and trichloroethylene. They came up with a list
of plants that specifically absorbed each of
these toxins.

only are these plants beautiful and decorative,

of air. Studies have shown that in a home or office
with 8-9ft. ceilings, one of these plants per
hundred square feet or 10 square yards can improve
air quality. The more plants you have, the better
the air. A good rule of thumb is that an 1800
square foot facility should have about 15-18 potted
plants.
